Reef Excavator

Ikan Bam atau ikan kakatua besar memiliki nama ilmiah Bolbometopon muricatum dan merupakan ikan terbesar dalam kelompok keluarga (family) Ikan Labridae. Ikan Bam memiliki warna hijau cerah dan bentuk kepala dengan dahi yang menonjol. Seekor ikan Bam dapat tumbuh mencapai panjang 1.3 meter dan berat 46 kg dengan usia dapat mencapai 15 tahun.

Ikan Bam merupakan ikan pemakan alga, dengan gigi yang menyerupai paruh mereka menggali permukaan karang mati dan makan alga yang hidup di permukaan karang yang telah mati.
